The Research and Development Center for Power Engineering Joint Stock Company (RDCPE) was founded on July 17th, 2006 after the merger of several leading research and development centers, including the National Research and Development Institute for Electric Power Industry, the Research and Development Center for High-Voltage Equipment Testing, the Institute for Design of Grids and Electric Power Facilities and the Siberian Research and Development Institute for Electric Power Industry with the goal of enhancing operational efficiency and improving management of research and development resources in the power grid sector. RDCPE conducts research and development in the electric power sector, provides engineering services, implements innovative solutions, conducts testing and certification of equipment, and carries out design of power grid networks.
